Nevermind; German '01 vs '08 Canadian pressing - soundjunky - 01-13-2022 I have a pressing that initially I could not find a dead ringer for on Enrico's site; Based on the information on Enrico's site, I had guessed this (image below) is the one I had: Discogs link The matrix is to me the key. Then a while later I found this: Discogs link That discogs link suggest that mine is a Canadian pressing from seven years later. Again, the matrix to me is the key, so at the very least (if I have understood and recall Ander's scoldings) they were created from the same masters. I bring this up, because I am seeing absurd asking prices on ebay for the 2001 German pressing - and Discogs has similar pricing for this "Canadian" pressing; There are three (2008 Canadian pressings) for sale, the low is 79 euros, the middle one is $120usd, and then there's some joker asking an absurd $1,100usd!? Curiously there are none of the 2001 EU pressing on Discogs for sale at this time. This is a heavy weight vinyl, and seems to be a great pressing - but for a "regular" black vinyl with no surrounding hoopla, I am not understanding the asking prices. What gives? Can someone clue me in? RE: Nevermind; German '01 vs '08 Canadian pressing - andypandy - 01-13-2022 Impossible to collect this stuff if even the reissues are three* digits. ![]() *Four is just beyond silly... RE: Nevermind; German '01 vs '08 Canadian pressing - soundjunky - 01-13-2022 I'm just wondering what's driving this; I mean this is a nice record, but if I can easly get as much as I got for my Incesticide RSD repress, I might as well list it. RE: Nevermind; German '01 vs '08 Canadian pressing - soundjunky - 01-14-2022 on a hunch I looked last night on an ebay crawler for lp versions of Muddy banks, and wow, again, three digits...?!? it this the time, as a collector that I should consider selling a bunch of my stuff? I mean, I like it, but these are just pressed pieces of plastic, and my possessing them or not doesn't change the meaning of my existence... I only wish that the price tracking site was better at distinguishing fake/bootlegs versus the real deal, because after we had hired a baby sitter a couple times, I decided that it might be prudent to put my copy of Love Buzz in the safe; If I could get one of the better fakes of this one, it would sure make selling my copy easier - but it seems a long time has passed since the better ones were $50. |
