sliver - us - 2nd pressing - opaque marble orange
#1
theres one less orange in circulation. Sad
today i received one in the mail. it was in a flimsy thin mailer without any sturdy protection surrounding it. the mailer was bent. i opened it up, the sleeve was bent in the same locations as the mailer and the record was cracked...from outer edge to the inner edge. the labels kept the crack line from being completely separated.
ive tried many times to get this record...having lost out. so i was very excited to finally win it and add it to my collection. looks like ill have to keep searching for my orange. Undecided

the update on this is that ebay gave me a full refund and i was able to keep the record. i knew id get the refund. i was a bit concerned with the fate of the record if i had to return it. luckily i didnt have to return it nor did this end up in the trash. sure its damaged, but with a limited number available its still a unique item. ive seen other artists records severely damaged ( heavily scratched limited vinyl or a ruined limited sleeve ) still have some value to collectors. it has intricate value to me.  Smile

Collecting is not to have the money to buy everything and anything on eBay or at your local record shop.
I prize highly the stories attached to each item that I buy or trade. Like my first Tupelo CD or the chase of an unattainable Spanish 12" Lithium with a miserable T-Shirt.
Good luck with your collection Nurvanna. Smile

thank you! Big Grin
i agree, the story behind each purchase has meaning. sometimes its a really great story and other times the story is boring, but still thats a story too!

happy collecting! Heart

When I saw the crack my heart sank Sad

I know the feeling of anticipation when you finally receive something and then you open it to pure disappointment when sellers do not package it well. But, you'll find another. Sometimes the hunt is the best part Big Grin
