Pennyroyal Tea - Germany - CD
#11
Welcome to the Forum Smile
Well spotted. I never thought to visit the website. It has been out of date for ages. But, it still seems to have valuable information.

Please, lazy people bring your thoughts on this forward Wink

Thanks! Nice to be here. Smile

That page is honestly what I used to ensure that I got an authentic copy. It is a shame that it is now defunct. There are some great pictures of rare items on there that are not on discogs.

LN-image-3 is my scan, and is of the same copy as pr3-image-4 (http://crimson-ceremony.net/pr3/page.php?id=pt-single-ger). It does have the ring, the scan on LN is just older and in lower quality. You can barely see it if you look carefully.

LN-image-4 appears to be a non-IFPI copy without the inner ring, so it seems there are non-IFPI discs with and without rings. This image is also of very low quality, so it would be very nice if somebody with a non-IFPI, non-inner ring copy would please make a good matrix scan for my website.

Conclusion seems to be this:
What can bee seen from LN and pr3 is that discs pressed on mould 0793 have the ring, those pressed on mould 0738 do not.
Discs without IFPI codes must have been pressed on different moulds, some with the inner ring, some without. Lacking IFPI codes, you cannot tell which moulds were used, nor how many.

I would agree.

I sadly no longer own my copy (sold it to get the Scott Litt Promo), but mine was the German Sonopress edition. I bought mine about 3 years ago. I hope to get another copy one day, but the wife made me give up my copy in order to purchase the Scott Litt promo version (which I certainly do not regret).

I will confess I felt a bit greedy to have both, so I did not protest that much, plus the real ones seem to be fairly easy to find if you have the $$$ and can trust the seller.

I know mine had the inner ring so I would be wary.  And I had no IFPI code stamped on mine...I'd be wary.

What do you think, the white color of text word Nirvana on spine is a counterfeit?

Hi The Jury.
All the details say that this is original, except for the white color of the word Nirvana on the spine.
