06/22/89 - Covered Wagon Saloon, San Francisco, CA (Version #2)
#1
Artist/Designer: Unknown
Promoter: Sub Pop / Nirvana
Year: 1989
Class: Flyer
Status: Official
Paper: Thin Stock
Size: 8.5" x 14"
Printing Technique: Offset
Notes: One of three known flyer variations to promote this show. This one was created by Sub Pop / Nirvana. There is another 8.5" x 14" flyer that was created by the venue (Version #1) and advertises both Bad Mutha Goose and Nirvana. The third variation is 8.5" x 11" (Version #3) and is the only flyer to advertise the third performing act, Spiderbaby, which probably indicates that it was made by a member or friend of that band, especially since Spiderbaby is written in larger font than both Bad Mutha Goose (the headliners) and Nirvana. In addition, there is also an 8.5" x 11" calendar flyer made by the Venue showing all scheduled shows for the month of June '89.

The image for this flyer originates from the cover of a book entitled "Marijuana Girl" by N.R. DeMexico, originally published in 1951. N.R. DeMexico was a pseudonym for author Robert Campbell Bragg.
