It can be one of the following:
- the seller changed the tray after the white one was damaged.
Or
- it is the Canadian edition (with black lettering on the disc)

I see what you mean.
It is definitely an US edition.
Unless you open it, we will never know.
It can be a later pressing (only confirmed by the matrix number or they run out of white trays(?)

I think it's a late pressing. I remember I saw the same US edition with grey tray in 2000 at the music shop and they're had only one copy but I don't bought it as hasn't enough money with me. Few days later I'm back but CD was sold out.
