I usually just laugh at shit like this, but for some reason this one makes me really mad. I almost sent a snarky message to the seller.

I think it looks legit fuck knows why there’s no vinyl.

Right, the sleeve looks OK to me, but who’s paying $7,500 for just the sleeve? It would be hard finding proof that one sold for this much ever, let alone without the record being included. People are delusional.
The price is ridiculous i agree but I thought you were insinuating it was a fake ??

No. It’s the combination of a consignment sale for a sleeve only, calling the sleeve alone a “holy grail”, pricing it at $7,500 without the record, and treating it as so valuable that’s it’s pickup only and he won’t ship it. Can you imagine driving across the country to meet someone in person to pay $7k for a record sleeve? That’s what I meant by ridiculous.
I’ve got what you mean now, it’s still worth a pretty penny but nowhere near what he’s asking.

I think a Love Buzz sold recently that didn’t have a sleeve. Not sure if it was authentic or not, but for someone who has a record only, finding this would be ideal, but not at this price. Depending on what you paid for the record alone, you could justify paying a few thousand maybe for the sleeve, as the complete pair would then at least value up to what you paid for both.

I agree with all of you, though a couple of thousands for the sleeve, seems still too much.
I believe the seller is the winner, with a bold move by advertising it for $7500(!!!).
He made the whole Nirvana community focused on this auction. So the move was pure marketing.
Now, he has reduced the price and maybe, maybe ? some crazy fducker will think that this is a good deal.

Isn't 4500 still a ludicrous amount? What does an actual complete Love Buzz (retail/ red slash) go for these days?

Retail copies range from £2500-£4000 depends on the number, previous owner and condition.
Not sure of promo prices.

Previous owners...(?)
Well, any copies from collectors of this forum should be inexpensive, as their status is really low.

I’ve got Steve Turner’s copy, Pavitt owned copies and the copy first aired on the radio by the DJ can’t remember his name and there’s others Wink

I was just joking, but unless the copy has some significant differences (signatures, very very low number, ...), it would not make a diference for me in terms of price - unless is Courtney’s (Kurt’s), Endino’s, Krist’s copies.
